15 Fun (and/or Disturbing) Facts!!!

1.  Human eyes contain a blind spot. The brain fills in with surrounding detail and with information from the other eye, so the blind spot is not normally perceived.
2. When tickled, rats laugh. (I don't plan on testing this out)
3.  The "57" on the Heinz ketchup bottle represents the number of pickle types the company once had.
4. The dot over the letter "i" is called a tittle.
5.  If Barbie were life-size her measurements would be 39-23-33. She would stand seven feet two inches tall and have a neck twice the length of a normal human's neck. (I now don't feel so bad that I don't look exactly like Barbie)
6. Donkeys kill more people annually than plane crashes or shark attacks. (That's one killer ass, Haha!)
7. The first owner of the Marlboro Company died of Lung Cancer... so did the first "Marlboro Man".
8. The word 'set' has more definitions than any other word in the English language.
9. The world's youngest parents lived in China in 1910... they were 8 and 9 years old. (That is sooo disturbing. My kids better not EVEN think about it)
10. In our dreams we only see faces that we already know. Our mind is not inventing faces – in our dreams we see real faces of real people that we have seen during our life but may not know or remember. We have all seen hundreds of thousands of faces throughout our lives, so we have an endless supply of characters for our brain to utilize during our dreams.
11.  Most lipstick contains fish scales. (That's a pleasant thought!)
12. The phrase "rule of thumb" is derived from an old English law, which stated that you couldn't beat your wife with anything wider than your thumb. (That's nice...note the sarcasm!)
13. Rubber bands last longer when refrigerated.
14.  Los Angeles' full name is "El Pueblo de Nuestra Senora la Reina de los Angeles de Porciuncula". It can be abbreviated to 3.63% of its size: L.A. (I actually knew this, growing up in San Diego and making trips  to L.A., you tend to hear things.)
15. The average chocolate bar has 8 insects' legs melted into it. (Um, I just stopped eating chocolate bars)
