- Human eyes contain a blind spot. The brain fills in with surrounding detail and with information from the other eye, so the blind spot is not normally perceived.

Our mind is not inventing faces – in our dreams we see real faces of real people that we have seen during our life but may not know or remember. We have all seen hundreds of thousands of faces throughout our lives, so we have an endless supply of characters for our brain to utilize during our dreams.
- Most lipstick contains fish scales. (That's a pleasant thought!)
- The phrase "rule of thumb" is derived from an old English law, which stated that you couldn't beat your wife with anything wider than your thumb. (That's nice...note the sarcasm!)
- Rubber bands last longer when refrigerated.
- Los Angeles' full name is "El Pueblo de Nuestra Senora la Reina de los Angeles de Porciuncula". It can be abbreviated to 3.63% of its size: L.A. (I actually knew this, growing up in San Diego and making trips to L.A., you tend to hear things.)
- The average chocolate bar has 8 insects' legs melted into it. (Um, I just stopped eating chocolate bars)
